About the MBA Cultural Consultant Program

The goal of the Minnesota Board on Aging (MBA) Cultural Consultant Program is to promote the principles of health equity—assuring that every person in Minnesota with dementia receives high-quality, culturally responsive, person-centered care and services.

Individuals featured on this website are from various ethnic and cultural communities, including

  • African-American
  • American Indian
  • Hmong
  • Latino/Hispanic/Chicano
  • Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender
  • Minnesota Chippewa Tribe
  • Russian/Ukranian
  • Somali
  • West African

They have completed on-line and in-person dementia training. Their experience and credentials were reviewed and participants interviewed by MBA staff. Cultural Consultants operate independently and may offer services throughout the state, the U.S. and internationally.

Cultural Consultants are not employees of the Minnesota Board on Aging, Department of Human Services or the State of Minnesota.
